Before you take it
Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup is probably safe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.<br>Larger doses or prolonged use of Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby

Triz Syrup 60 ml contains Cetirizine (5mg/5ml) and is used for allergic conditions.
Treatment of Allergic conditions
Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup is an antihistaminic medication. It treats allergy symptoms such as such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine) in the body.
Shake the bottle well before each dose and measure it with the cup, spoon or dropper supplied — a kitchen spoon is not an accurate measure. Take it with or without food, often in the evening. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Triz 5 mg/5ml Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Sleepiness
Older antihistamines cause marked drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this affects you. Tell your doctor promptly about any change in mood, sleep, agitation or unusual thoughts while taking montelukast; this is uncommon but recognised. This relieves the symptoms of an allergy; it does not treat the cause, and it is not a treatment for an acute asthma attack. Seek emergency care for swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.
Alcohol, sleeping tablets and other sedating medicines add to the drowsiness. Tell your doctor about all cold and cough preparations — many already contain an antihistamine.
Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Once opened, use it within the period printed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children.
