Relief of pain, swelling and inflammation in mouth ulcers (aphthous ulcers), stomatitis, sore gums (gingivitis), teething pain, and irritation from dentures/braces/minor oral injuries
Choline salicylate is an anti-inflammatory analgesic that reduces pain and swelling in the oral mucosa by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that blocks sodium channels in nerve endings to numb the area and provide quick pain relief.
For topical use in the mouth only. Apply a small amount to the affected area with a clean finger/cotton bud and gently massage. Use 2–3 times daily or as advised by a doctor; preferably after meals and at bedtime. Avoid eating/drinking for about 15–30 minutes after application; do not swallow large amounts.
Temporary burning or stinging, numbness/tingling, altered taste, dryness of mouth, irritation/redness, nausea (if swallowed), allergic reaction (rash, swelling)
Do not use if allergic to salicylates/NSAIDs or lidocaine/local anaesthetics. Use with caution in children (risk if swallowed), in asthma or history of NSAID allergy, and in patients with bleeding disorders or on anticoagulants. Avoid applying to large areas or using excessively; seek medical advice if ulcers persist >7 days, are recurrent, or are accompanied by fever. Stop use and seek care if signs of allergy (facial swelling, breathing difficulty) occur.
Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) may increase bleeding risk due to salicylate absorption; other NSAIDs/salicylates (additive effects). Lidocaine interactions are mainly with antiarrhythmics (e.g., mexiletine) or strong CYP inhibitors if significant systemic absorption (unlikely with recommended topical oral use).
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), tightly closed. Protect from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
