If your Parivahan or Vahan portal shows 'Payment Pending at Bank Side' or 'Transaction Under Processing' after paying for Form 1A, your payment likely went through but the portal hasn't confirmed it yet. This is common with UPI, netbanking, and card payments.
Do NOT pay again immediately. Most pending payments auto-resolve within 24-48 hours. This guide shows you exactly how to check your status, re-verify the payment, and what to do if it stays stuck.
Before you do anything
Safety note
Never share your bank OTP, UPI PIN, or login credentials with anyone claiming to fix your Parivahan payment. Official support will never ask for these.

A simple flow that feels like a modern healthcare app — not a confusing form.
Step 1: Check if money was actually debited
Open your bank app or UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm). Check the transaction for the exact amount. If it shows 'Debited' or 'Completed' on your bank side but Parivahan shows pending — the issue is on Parivahan's side, not yours. Note down the UTR number or transaction reference.
Step 2: Wait 2-4 hours, then re-check Parivahan
Log in to parivahan.gov.in → Services → Check Application Status. Enter your application number. If the status has changed to 'Payment Received' or 'Under Processing', you're done — no further action needed. If still pending after 4 hours, proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Use the 'Re-verify Payment' option
On Parivahan portal: go to your application → look for 'Re-verify Payment Transaction' or 'Verify Payment' button. Click it. This sends a fresh query to the payment gateway to confirm your transaction. You may see the status update within minutes after re-verification.
Step 4: Try the Vahan portal if Parivahan doesn't update
Go to vahan.parivahan.gov.in → enter your application/receipt number → check payment status. Sometimes Vahan reflects the payment before Parivahan does. If Vahan shows 'Paid', the Parivahan portal will sync eventually.
Step 5: Contact support if still pending after 48 hours
If payment is still pending after 48 hours and re-verification didn't help: (1) Email transport-helpdesk@gov.in with your application number, transaction ID, UTR, and bank statement screenshot. (2) Call the Parivahan helpline at 0120-2459169. (3) Visit your regional RTO with printed proof. Keep all reference numbers ready.
Clear answers to the questions people have before paying.
Avoid duplicate payments
Repeated rapid retries can create duplicate debits. Confirm status first.
Record-keeping
Keep transaction references, timestamps, and screenshots for support queries.
Medical review is separate
Payment resolution is procedural; medical certification still requires clinician assessment where applicable.
Written in plain language to reduce doubts.
This is the most common scenario. Your bank processed the payment, but the confirmation didn't reach Parivahan's payment gateway (usually due to network timeout). The money is safe. Use the 'Re-verify Payment' option on Parivahan, or wait 24-48 hours for automatic reconciliation.
No — not until you've confirmed the first payment failed. Check your bank statement first. If the money was debited, do NOT pay again. Wait 48 hours, try re-verification, and contact support only if it doesn't resolve. Duplicate payments are harder to get refunded.
UPI payments usually reflect within 30 minutes to 4 hours. Netbanking can take 4-24 hours. Credit/debit cards may take up to 48 hours in some cases. If your bank shows 'completed', the Parivahan update is just a matter of time.
Log in to parivahan.gov.in → go to your application/service → look for 'Re-verify Payment Transaction' or 'Payment Verification' link. It's usually near the payment status section. Click it to trigger a fresh status check with the payment gateway.
The receipt number is generated when you initiate the application on Parivahan. It appears on the confirmation page and is also sent via SMS/email (if you provided these). If you lost it, check your email for 'Parivahan' or 'Vahan' messages, or visit your regional RTO with your ID.
If you made a duplicate payment, the extra amount should be auto-refunded within 7-10 business days. If it's not refunded, email transport-helpdesk@gov.in with both transaction IDs and bank statements showing the double debit. RTO offices can also help process refunds.
Switching browsers or devices doesn't fix the payment — the issue is between the payment gateway and Parivahan's backend. However, if the portal page crashed during payment, logging in from a fresh browser and checking status can sometimes show the updated (resolved) status.
No. Your application is saved regardless of payment status. Once the payment is confirmed (automatically or via re-verification), your application proceeds normally. The Form 1A doctor review starts only after payment confirmation.
