Medical certificates issued after a video or audio consultation are legally valid across India. The Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, issued by the Board of Governors in supersession of the Medical Council of India as Appendix 5 to the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, permit a registered medical practitioner to examine, advise and issue documents such as a Form 1A fitness certificate through telemedicine.
Every Form 1A carries the issuing doctor's name, State Medical Council or National Medical Council registration number, signature and a unique verification ID with a QR code, alongside direct upload to Parivahan, so your RTO can confirm exactly who certified your fitness and when.
