Thyroid Care

Thyroid disorders affect millions of Indians, with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) being the most common. The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate metabolism, energy, and body temperature.

Hypothyroidism is treated with levothyroxine (synthetic T4), taken daily on an empty stomach 30-60 minutes before breakfast. Regular blood tests (TSH, T3, T4) are needed to adjust dosage. Consistency in timing and brand is important.

Selenium is an essential mineral for thyroid function and may help reduce thyroid antibodies in autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's disease). Adequate iodine intake through iodized salt supports thyroid hormone production.
