Important Warnings

Do not use in hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, severe renal impairment, kidney stones, or sarcoidosis unless advised by a doctor. Excess intake can cause vitamin D toxicity leading to high calcium levels (confusion, vomiting, dehydration, arrhythmias). Use with caution in kidney disease and in patients on calcium supplements; monitor serum calcium and vitamin D levels if on high-dose/long-term therapy.

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcemia)
digoxin/cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with hypercalcemia)
anticonvulsants like phenytoin/phenobarbital and rifampicin (reduced vitamin D effect)
corticosteroids (reduced absorption/effect)
cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption)
aluminum/magnesium antacids in renal disease (risk of toxicity)
