How Active D3 Md Tablet works

Cholecalciferol is converted in the body to active vitamin D metabolites that increase intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate. This helps maintain normal blood calcium levels and supports bone mineralization and muscle function.

How to take Active D3 Md Tablet

Take by mouth as advised by the doctor. Commonly used as 60000 IU once weekly for a few weeks, then once monthly/maintenance as directed. Swallow whole with water; preferably take with food (or after meals) to improve absorption.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcemia), digoxin/cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with hypercalcemia), anticonvulsants like phenytoin/phenobarbital and rifampicin (reduced vitamin D effect), corticosteroids (reduced absorption/effect), cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption), aluminum/magnesium antacids in renal disease (risk of toxicity)
