Important Warnings

Use only for bacterial eye infections; do not use for viral/fungal eye infections unless advised. Prolonged steroid use may increase intraocular pressure, cause glaucoma/cataract, delay wound healing, and increase risk of secondary infections—use for the shortest duration prescribed. Use with caution in patients with glaucoma, corneal thinning/ulceration, or history of steroid response. Stop and seek medical help if severe pain, vision changes, swelling/rash, or worsening symptoms occur. Do not wear contact lenses during an active eye infection unless advised.

Other ophthalmic medicines (separate by 5–10 minutes). Dexamethasone may increase risk of raised intraocular pressure when combined with other steroids; caution with concomitant NSAID eye drops due to possible delayed corneal healing. Systemic interactions are unlikely with proper topical use.
