Treatment and prevention of vitamin D deficiency, Rickets, Osteomalacia, Adjunct in osteoporosis and hypocalcaemia due to vitamin D deficiency
Cholecalciferol is converted in the liver and kidneys to active vitamin D (calcitriol). It increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate and helps normalize bone mineralization and parathyroid hormone levels.
Administer only under medical supervision as an intramuscular injection. Dose and frequency are decided by the physician based on vitamin D levels and clinical condition; may be given with or without food as it is injectable.
Common side effects of Arachitol 6L Injection (1ml) may include:
Risk of hypercalcaemia and vitamin D toxicity with excessive dosing—monitor serum calcium, phosphate and 25(OH)D especially with repeated high-dose use. Use with caution in kidney disease, history of kidney stones, hyperparathyroidism, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous disorders. Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia, hypervitaminosis D and hypersensitivity to vitamin D preparations.
