Important Warnings

For external use only. Do not use on broken skin or around eyes/mucosa. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling, or allergic reaction occurs. Prolonged/indiscriminate use of topical antibiotics can lead to resistance—use for the duration advised and avoid combining with other topical antibiotics unless prescribed. Rarely, topical clindamycin may cause antibiotic-associated diarrhoea/colitis; discontinue and consult a doctor if severe or persistent diarrhoea occurs. Use caution in patients with a history of colitis/IBD. Avoid excessive sun exposure; use sunscreen.

Other topical irritants/peeling agents (retinoids
benzoyl peroxide
salicylic acid
alcohol-based products) may increase irritation; consider staggered use. Neuromuscular blocking agents may have enhanced effect with clindamycin (rare with topical).
