AZMARDA 100MG TAB — Side Effects & Warnings

Known side effects of AZMARDA 100MG TAB include Low blood pressure (dizziness), increased potassium (hyperkalaemia), kidney function impairment, cough, nausea, diarrhoea, headache, fatigue, angioedema (rare but serious). Not everyone experiences these side effects.

Important Warnings

Contraindicated in pregnancy; stop immediately if pregnancy occurs. Do not use with ACE inhibitors (need 36-hour washout) or in patients with history of angioedema related to ACEI/ARB. Use caution in low blood pressure, dehydration, kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, hyperkalaemia, severe liver impairment; monitor blood pressure, serum creatinine and potassium. Avoid in diabetic patients taking aliskiren; caution with severe renal impairment. Seek urgent care for swelling of face/lips/tongue or breathing difficulty (angioedema).

ACE inhibitors (contraindicated)
aliskiren (avoid esp. in diabetes)
potassium supplements/salt substitutes and potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g.
spironolactone
eplerenone
amiloride) may increase potassium
NSAIDs may worsen kidney function
lithium may increase lithium levels/toxicity
other antihypertensives/diuretics may increase hypotension risk.
