Insulin glargine is a long-acting basal insulin analogue. After subcutaneous injection it forms microprecipitates that slowly release insulin, providing a relatively steady glucose-lowering effect over ~24 hours.

For subcutaneous use only via the disposable pen as instructed by a healthcare professional. Inject once daily at the same time each day (or as prescribed); rotate injection sites (abdomen, thigh, upper arm). Do not inject into a vein or muscle; do not mix with other insulins unless advised.
