Important Warnings

Prescription-only antibiotic. Do not use for viral infections. Risk of tendonitis/tendon rupture (higher in elderly, steroid users); stop and seek care if tendon pain/swelling occurs. May cause peripheral neuropathy, CNS effects (seizures, confusion), or worsening of myasthenia gravis—use caution. Can cause QT prolongation/arrhythmias in susceptible patients. Use caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Stop and seek medical help for severe diarrhoea (possible C. difficile), allergic reactions, or severe skin reactions. Avoid excessive sun/UV exposure; may cause photosensitivity.

sucralfate
iron/zinc/calcium supplements (reduced absorption)
dairy/calcium-fortified products (reduced absorption if taken alone)
warfarin (increased bleeding risk)
theophylline (increased levels/toxicity)
tizanidine (contraindicated—marked hypotension/sedation)
antiarrhythmics/QT-prolonging drugs (increased QT risk)
corticosteroids (increased tendon rupture risk)
NSAIDs (may increase seizure risk)
probenecid (increases ciprofloxacin levels)
