Telmisartan 40 mg + Metformin (prolonged-release) 500 mg
Hypertension with type 2 diabetes mellitus or insulin resistance; helps control blood pressure and blood sugar in patients needing both therapies
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, helping lower blood glucose.
Take as directed by physician, usually once daily with food (metformin component). Swallow whole; do not crush or break prolonged-release tablets. Maintain diet and exercise as advised.
Common side effects of Bilasure 40 M Tablet may include:
Monitor kidney function and potassium periodically. Metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis (higher risk in severe kidney/liver disease, dehydration, heavy alcohol use, or hypoxia). Avoid in pregnancy unless specifically advised; caution in elderly and in patients with heart failure. Temporarily stop metformin before iodinated contrast procedures or major surgery as advised by doctor.
