Brivaracetam 100 mg (sustained release)
Treatment of partial-onset (focal) seizures in epilepsy, as monotherapy or adjunct therapy in adults as prescribed.
Brivaracetam binds selectively to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain, modulating neurotransmitter release. This stabilizes neuronal activity and helps reduce seizure frequency.
Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily for SR formulations, with or without food. Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew. Do not stop suddenly; tapering may be needed to avoid seizure worsening.
Common side effects of Brivazen SR 100 Tablet may include:
May cause somnolence and dizziness; avoid driving until you know the effect. Monitor for mood/behavior changes, depression or suicidal thoughts. Use caution in liver impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). Abrupt discontinuation can increase seizure risk.
