Important Warnings

Not for weight loss or obesity treatment. Use caution in heart disease (angina, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias), elderly, and patients with adrenal insufficiency (treat adrenal issue first). Overdose may cause hyperthyroid symptoms and serious cardiac effects. Monitor TSH/Free T4 periodically; dose adjustments needed with pregnancy, major weight change, and interacting medicines.

Drug Interactions

Eltroxin 12.5MCG Tab may interact with the following:

Reduced absorption with calcium salts
iron salts
aluminium/magnesium antacids
sucralfate
cholestyramine/colestipol
sevelamer; take separated by 4 hours. Rifampicin
carbamazepine
phenytoin
phenobarbital may increase clearance. Warfarin effect may increase (monitor INR). Antidiabetic medicines may need adjustment. Amiodarone and lithium can affect thyroid function. Estrogens may increase dose requirement.

Always tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
