Treatment of male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) in men
Finasteride inhibits type II 5-alpha reductase, reducing conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Lower DHT helps slow hair loss and can promote hair regrowth in men with androgenetic alopecia.
Take 1 tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Effects may take 3 months or longer; continue as directed. Do not donate blood during treatment and for at least 1 month after stopping.

Not for use in women or children. Contraindicated in pregnancy; women who are or may become pregnant should not handle crushed/broken tablets due to risk to a male fetus. Inform doctor if you have liver disease, depression, or breast lumps/nipple discharge. PSA levels may decrease; tell your doctor you are taking finasteride before prostate tests.
