Type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control
alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines along with diet and exercise
How Galvus 50 Tablet Works
Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin levels (GLP-1 and GIP), leading to glucose-dependent insulin release and reduced glucagon secretion. This lowers blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when not used with insulin or sulfonylureas.
Dosage & Directions
Take by mouth as prescribed, with or without food, usually once or twice daily depending on regimen. Continue diet and exercise; monitor blood sugar regularly. If combined with a sulfonylurea/insulin, hypoglycaemia precautions may be needed.
Always follow your doctor's prescription. Do not self-medicate.
