Important Warnings

Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., haemochromatosis/haemosiderosis) or non–iron-deficiency anaemia unless prescribed. Iron overdose can be dangerous, especially in children—store safely. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic liver disease. If severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or allergic symptoms occur, seek medical help.

tetracyclines
fluoroquinolone antibiotics (e.g.
ciprofloxacin/levofloxacin)
levothyroxine
bisphosphonates
penicillamine
methyldopa
levodopa
zinc/magnesium supplements—separate dosing by 2–4 hours; tea/coffee reduce absorption
