Important Warnings

Serious skin reactions (SJS/TEN) can occur, especially in the first 2–8 weeks or with rapid dose escalation; stop and seek urgent care if rash, blistering, mouth sores, fever or facial swelling occurs. Risk increases with valproate co-use. Monitor for suicidal thoughts/behavior and mood changes. Do not discontinue abruptly (may worsen seizures). Use caution in liver or kidney disease. May cause dizziness/blurred vision—avoid driving if affected.

Drug Interactions

Lametec 50 DT may interact with the following:

Valproate (increases lamotrigine levels—requires lower dose/titration)
enzyme inducers like carbamazepine/phenytoin/phenobarbital/primidone/rifampicin (decrease levels—may need higher dose)
combined oral contraceptives containing ethinyl estradiol (can lower lamotrigine levels; lamotrigine may affect contraceptive hormone levels)
sertraline and other CNS-acting drugs (additive dizziness/somnolence)
