Temporary relief of nasal congestion due to common cold, allergic rhinitis (hay fever) or sinusitis in children (paediatric use as per label/doctor advice)
Oxymetazoline is a topical nasal decongestant (alpha-adrenergic agonist). It constricts blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and congestion and improving airflow.
For intranasal use only. Instill the prescribed number of drops into each nostril as directed, usually 2–3 times daily. Do not use for more than 3 days continuously to avoid rebound congestion; use the dropper as instructed and avoid touching the tip to prevent contamination.
Common side effects of Nasivion Paediatric Nasal Drops may include:
Do not use for >3 days (risk of rhinitis medicamentosa/rebound congestion). Use with caution in children and follow age-specific dosing; do not exceed dose/frequency. Consult a doctor before use in children with heart disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, glaucoma, or enlarged adenoids; stop and seek medical help if symptoms persist/worsen or if significant palpitations, dizziness, or breathing difficulty occur. Avoid sharing the bottle to prevent infections.
