Important Warnings

Use with caution in patients with kidney disease, kidney stones (nephrolithiasis), hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, sarcoidosis/other granulomatous diseases, or severe dehydration. Prolonged high intake may cause high calcium levels (symptoms: vomiting, constipation, excessive thirst/urination, confusion). Monitor calcium/vitamin D in patients on long-term therapy or with renal impairment. Not a substitute for a balanced diet.

Drug Interactions

Ocium 2000 Tab may interact with the following:

Levothyroxine (reduced absorption)
tetracyclines and quinolones (reduced antibiotic absorption)
bisphosphonates (reduced absorption)
iron salts (mutual absorption reduction)
thiazide diuretics (increased risk of hypercalcemia)
digoxin (arrhythmia risk with hypercalcemia)
antacids/laxatives containing magnesium (additive magnesium load)
corticosteroids (reduced calcium absorption)
