Methylprednisolone 4 mg (as methylprednisolone)
Treatment of inflammatory and allergic conditions such as asthma/allergic disorders, skin diseases (eczema, dermatitis), rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders, flare-ups of inflammatory conditions.
Methylprednisolone is a corticosteroid that suppresses the immune response and reduces inflammation. It decreases the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing swelling, redness, pain and allergic symptoms.
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usually taken with food or after meals to reduce stomach upset; take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly—dose is often tapered gradually. If you miss a dose, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose.
Common side effects of Predmet 4 Tablet may include:
Prescription-only steroid. Long-term/high-dose use can cause adrenal suppression, osteoporosis, cataract/glaucoma, muscle weakness, weight gain, high blood pressure and increased risk of infections. Avoid exposure to infections (e.g., chickenpox/measles); consult doctor urgently if exposed. Monitor blood sugar in diabetes; use caution in hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, osteoporosis, glaucoma, liver disease, thyroid disorders and in elderly. Vaccines: avoid live vaccines during immunosuppressive doses. Tapering is required after prolonged use.
