Important Warnings

Prescription-only antibiotic; use only for bacterial infections. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur (avoid if allergic to cephalosporins; caution with penicillin allergy). Risk of C. difficile–associated diarrhea with prolonged use. Dose adjustment/monitoring may be needed in hepatic impairment and combined renal-hepatic dysfunction.
