Known side effects of SETOFLOX OZ TAB include Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, metallic/bitter taste, dry mouth, loss of appetite. Not everyone experiences these side effects.

Important Warnings

Prescription-only. Not recommended for viral diarrhoea. Fluoroquinolones may cause tendonitis/tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, CNS effects (dizziness, seizures), QT prolongation and severe allergic reactions; stop and seek medical help if tendon pain, numbness/tingling, palpitations or rash occurs. Use with caution in epilepsy, heart rhythm disorders, myasthenia gravis, liver disease and renal impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Not for use in children/adolescents unless specifically advised. Risk of C. difficile-associated diarrhoea; seek care if severe/persistent diarrhoea or blood in stools.

Drug Interactions

SETOFLOX OZ TAB may interact with the following:

Antacids/iron/calcium/zinc/sucralfate (reduce ofloxacin absorption; separate by 2-4 hours)
warfarin and other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk)
QT-prolonging drugs (e.g.
amiodarone
sotalol
macrolides
antipsychotics)
NSAIDs (increased seizure risk)
corticosteroids (increased tendon rupture risk)
antidiabetic drugs/insulin (risk of hypo-/hyperglycaemia)
theophylline (increased levels)
alcohol (ornidazole-related intolerance)
