Starcad 12.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and atorvastatin which treat high blood pressure associated with high cholesterol levels. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication which works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL). Together they reduce the risk of heart diseases.
Take the missed dose of Starcad B as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Starcad B than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Starcad B are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
