Treatment of epilepsy (partial seizures
generalized tonic-clonic seizures) and trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve pain). Also used in some cases for neuropathic pain as advised by a doctor.

How Tegrital 200 Tablet Works

Carbamazepine is an antiepileptic that stabilizes overactive nerve membranes by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels. This reduces abnormal electrical activity in the brain (seizures) and decreases pain signal transmission in trigeminal neuralgia.

Dosage & Directions

Take the tablet exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly as it may worsen seizures. Dose is individualized and often started low then increased; take at the same time each day.
