Important Warnings

Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the unborn baby); avoid use in patients with severe liver impairment or biliary obstructive disorders. Use caution in kidney disease, dehydration/volume depletion, low blood pressure, and hyperkalemia risk; monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium. Seek medical help for fainting, severe dizziness, swelling of face/lips (angioedema) or markedly reduced urination.

Potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g.
spironolactone
amiloride)
ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (higher risk of kidney injury/hyperkalemia; avoid especially in diabetes)
NSAIDs (may reduce effect and worsen kidney function)
lithium (increased lithium toxicity)
diuretics (additive hypotension)
other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering).
