Important Warnings

Not for weight loss/obesity treatment. Use caution in heart disease, angina, arrhythmias, hypertension and in elderly—may need lower starting dose. Overdose can cause symptoms of hyperthyroidism and serious cardiac effects. Monitor TSH/free T4 periodically; dose requirements may change in pregnancy, with weight changes, or with interacting medicines. If signs of chest pain, severe palpitations, shortness of breath occur, seek medical care.

Drug Interactions

Thyromed-25 Tab may interact with the following:

Calcium carbonate
iron salts
aluminium/magnesium antacids
sucralfate
cholestyramine/colestipol
sevelamer (reduce absorption); rifampicin
carbamazepine
phenytoin (increase metabolism); sertraline
amiodarone (alter thyroid levels); warfarin (increased anticoagulant effect); insulin/oral antidiabetics (dose adjustment may be needed); oestrogens (may increase requirement).

Always tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
