Important Warnings

Use only under medical supervision; dose errors can cause symptoms of hyperthyroidism and serious cardiac effects. Use caution in elderly and in coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, hypertension; start low and titrate. Not for weight loss/obesity treatment. Monitor TSH/FT4 periodically; dose may need adjustment during pregnancy, after delivery, and with interacting medicines. If chest pain, severe palpitations or breathlessness occur, seek medical help.

Calcium salts
iron salts
aluminium/magnesium antacids
sucralfate
cholestyramine/colestipol
sevelamer (reduce absorption); proton pump inhibitors and dietary fibre/soy may reduce absorption; rifampicin
carbamazepine
phenytoin
phenobarbital (increase metabolism); amiodarone (affects thyroid function); warfarin (increased anticoagulant effect); antidiabetics (dose adjustment may be needed); digoxin (effect may decrease); estrogen therapy (may increase dose requirement)
