Important Warnings

Use with caution in patients with history/risk of blood clots (DVT/PE), stroke, thrombophilia, or on hormonal contraception. Contraindicated in active thromboembolic disease and subarachnoid haemorrhage. Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney disease. Seek urgent care for visual disturbances, chest pain, shortness of breath, or leg swelling. Not for use in hematuria from upper urinary tract due to risk of ureteric obstruction (clots).

Combined oral contraceptives/estrogen therapy (increased thrombosis risk)
Factor IX complex concentrates or anti-inhibitor coagulant complex (risk of thrombosis)
thrombolytics (antagonistic effect)
anticoagulants/antiplatelets (may affect bleeding control)
tretinoin (reported thrombosis risk)
