Important Warnings

Use under medical supervision. Not recommended in patients with non-functioning gallbladder, calcified gallstones, frequent biliary colic, or obstruction of the biliary tract (e.g., complete biliary obstruction). Monitor liver function tests periodically, especially in PBC/cholestasis. Use with caution in severe liver disease, pancreatitis, or inflammatory bowel disease; stop and consult doctor if severe diarrhoea, worsening jaundice, or abdominal pain occurs.

Drug Interactions

Ursocol 300 Tablet may interact with the following:

Bile acid sequestrants (cholestyramine
colestipol) and antacids containing aluminium hydroxide may reduce absorption (separate dosing by 2–4 hours). Oestrogens
oral contraceptives and lipid-lowering drugs like clofibrate may increase biliary cholesterol and reduce gallstone dissolution efficacy. Cyclosporine levels may change; monitoring may be needed.
