Important Warnings

Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Use with caution in kidney impairment (dose adjustment may be needed); monitor renal function. Liver enzyme elevations/hepatitis have been reported—check liver function before treatment and periodically; discontinue if jaundice or significant transaminase rise.
