Known side effects of Vildatin 50 Tab include Headache, dizziness, tremor, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, fatigue, nasopharyngitis, peripheral oedema, hypoglycaemia (more likely with sulfonylureas/insulin), skin rash. Not everyone experiences these side effects.

Important Warnings

Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Liver function monitoring may be advised; stop and seek medical help if symptoms of hepatitis occur (jaundice, dark urine, persistent nausea). Rare risk of pancreatitis—seek urgent care for severe persistent abdominal pain. Use caution in renal impairment (dose adjustment may be required) and in patients with heart failure; consult doctor before use. Inform doctor about history of angioedema; serious allergic reactions are rare. Not a substitute for diet/exercise and regular glucose monitoring.

Drug Interactions

Vildatin 50 Tab may interact with the following:

Insulin and sulfonylureas (increased risk of hypoglycaemia)
ACE inhibitors (may increase risk of angioedema)
other antidiabetic medicines (additive glucose-lowering)
alcohol (may worsen glycaemic control and pancreatitis risk). Clinically significant CYP interactions are unlikely.
