Important Warnings

Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., haemochromatosis/haemosiderosis) or non–iron deficiency anaemia unless prescribed. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and in patients receiving repeated blood transfusions. Keep out of reach of children—iron overdose can be fatal. If severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or allergic symptoms occur, seek medical help.

tea/coffee (reduce absorption)
tetracyclines
quinolone antibiotics (ciprofloxacin/levofloxacin)
levothyroxine
bisphosphonates

chloramphenicol; separate administration by 2–4 hours where applicable
