An automatic BP monitor measures oscillations in the cuff during inflation/deflation to estimate systolic and diastolic pressure and pulse rate. Readings help track trends over time when taken correctly.

Rest 5 minutes before measuring. Place cuff on upper arm (or wrist if device is wrist type per manual) at heart level, sit with back supported and feet flat, start measurement, avoid talking/moving. Take 2-3 readings 1 minute apart and record the average.

Temporary arm discomfort from cuff inflation, rare bruising in sensitive skin

Not a substitute for clinical evaluation; confirm high readings with repeated measurements and doctor visit. Incorrect cuff size/position, movement, arrhythmias, or talking can affect accuracy. Use appropriate cuff size; in atrial fibrillation readings may be less reliable.

Store in a dry, dust-free place at room temperature; avoid dropping, moisture, and direct sunlight. Remove batteries if not used for long periods.
