Atorvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis and lowering LDL and triglycerides while modestly increasing HDL. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet COX-1, reducing thromboxane A2 and preventing platelet aggregation to lower clot formation risk.
Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time. Swallow capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew. Preferably take after food to reduce gastric irritation; continue long-term unless advised otherwise.

Risk of bleeding (especially with ulcers, blood thinners, or before surgery); inform doctor/dentist before procedures. Stop and seek care if black stools, vomiting blood, unusual bleeding, or severe stomach pain occurs. Statin-related muscle symptoms (unexplained muscle pain/weakness) require medical review; risk higher with liver disease or interacting drugs. Avoid in active liver disease; periodic liver function monitoring may be needed. Not for children unless specifically prescribed; avoid in aspirin allergy or aspirin-sensitive asthma. Aspirin may worsen peptic ulcer disease and can affect kidney function in susceptible patients.
Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, heparin, clopidogrel), NSAIDs (ibuprofen/naproxen), SSRIs/SNRIs (increased bleeding risk), corticosteroids (GI bleed risk), methotrexate, valproate, ACE inhibitors/diuretics (renal risk with NSAID effect), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (clarithromycin, erythromycin, azole antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors), grapefruit juice, fibrates (gemfibrozil), niacin (increased myopathy risk)
