Neuropathic pain (e.g., diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia), pain due to nerve injury, fibromyalgia (where prescribed), adjunct treatment of partial seizures (as add-on therapy)

Pregabalin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the CNS, reducing release of excitatory neurotransmitters. This decreases abnormal nerve signaling and helps relieve neuropathic pain and seizures.

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually 1–2 times daily. May be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day and swallow the capsule whole. Do not stop suddenly—dose should be tapered on medical advice.

Dizziness, sleepiness (somnolence), blurred vision, dry mouth, weight gain, peripheral edema (swelling), fatigue, difficulty concentrating

May cause dizziness/somnolence—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know its effects. Do not stop abruptly (risk of withdrawal symptoms and seizure worsening). Use caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment needed). May cause edema and weight gain; use caution in heart failure. Rare mood changes/suicidal thoughts—seek medical help if symptoms occur. Risk of hypersensitivity/angioedema; discontinue and seek urgent care if facial swelling or breathing difficulty occurs.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased sedation), opioids (increased risk of respiratory depression/constipation), benzodiazepines/sedatives (additive drowsiness), antihistamines with sedative effects, ACE inhibitors (may increase risk of angioedema)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
