Dry eye syndrome, ocular irritation, burning, grittiness and discomfort due to dryness; lubrication and protection of the eye surface
How It Works
Carboxymethylcellulose is a lubricating polymer that supplements the tear film and increases viscosity on the ocular surface. It helps retain moisture, reduces friction during blinking, and provides temporary relief from dryness and irritation.
Directions for Use
For ophthalmic use only. Instil 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed or as directed by a doctor. Can be used with or without contact lenses as per label; if using other eye medicines, keep a 10–15 minute gap. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface.
Side Effects
Temporary blurred vision, mild burning or stinging, eye irritation, redness, watery eyes, foreign body sensation
Warnings & Precautions
Stop use and consult a doctor if eye pain, vision changes, persistent redness/irritation or worsening symptoms occur. Do not use if seal is broken or solution changes colour/turns cloudy. Avoid contamination of the tip. If you wear contact lenses and irritation persists, remove lenses and seek advice. Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to carboxymethylcellulose or excipients.
Drug Interactions
No clinically significant drug interactions expected with topical ocular carboxymethylcellulose; separate from other eye drops/ointments by 10–15 minutes (use ointments last).
Storage Instructions
