Symptomatic relief of sore throat, throat irritation and pain due to pharyngitis/tonsillitis/cold; helps reduce throat discomfort and minor mouth/throat infections
Amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol are local antiseptics. They help reduce germs in the mouth and throat and provide soothing relief from soreness and irritation.
Dissolve 1 lozenge slowly in the mouth; do not chew or swallow whole. Adults and children (as per pack guidance) may take 1 lozenge every 2–3 hours as needed; do not exceed the maximum daily number stated on the label. If symptoms persist beyond 2–3 days, consult a doctor.
Mouth/throat irritation or burning, nausea, stomach upset, taste disturbance, allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), numbness/tingling in mouth (rare)
Do not use if allergic to any ingredient. If sore throat is severe, lasts more than 2–3 days, or is accompanied by fever, headache, nausea/vomiting, or rash, seek medical advice. Use with caution in children (choking risk; follow age limits on pack). Diabetics should check sugar content of lozenges on label. Stop use and consult a doctor if signs of allergy occur.
No clinically significant interactions are commonly reported with local antiseptic lozenges; avoid using multiple throat antiseptic/anaesthetic products together unless advised by a doctor.
