Tuspel Plus Expectorant

Tuspel Plus Expectorant contains Terbutaline (1.25mg/5ml) + Bromhexine (4mg/5ml) + Ammonium Chloride (50mg/5ml) + Menthol (0.75mg/5ml). Prescription required.

Used for symptomatic relief of productive (wet) cough and chest congestion associated with common cold, acute bronchitis and other respiratory tract infections/allergies.

This expectorant combination typically works by thinning and loosening mucus (expectorant/mucolytic action) and helping clear it from the airways. It may also reduce cough frequency and improve breathing by relieving bronchial congestion.

Oral syrup: take the dose as prescribed by a doctor, usually after food using a measuring cup/spoon. Drink adequate fluids to help loosen mucus. Do not exceed recommended dose; shake well before use.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, throat irritation, rash

Use with caution in children, elderly, and in patients with asthma/COPD, liver or kidney disease. May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Do not use with other cough/cold medicines containing similar ingredients unless advised. Seek medical help if cough persists >7 days, is recurrent, or occurs with fever, wheezing, shortness of breath, or blood in sputum. Not recommended in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), MAO inhibitors/antidepressants (with certain antitussives/antihistamines), sedatives, antihypertensives (with some decongestants), other cough/cold combinations
