First Aid Essentials
Bandages, antiseptic solutions, wound care, burn treatment, and complete first aid kits for home and travel.
Every home should have a well-stocked first aid kit for managing minor injuries, cuts, burns, and emergencies. Being prepared with the right supplies can make a significant difference in how quickly and safely injuries are treated.
Essential items include adhesive bandages (various sizes), sterile gauze pads, medical tape, antiseptic solution (povidone-iodine or chlorhexidine), antibiotic ointment (mupirocin/neosporin), scissors, tweezers, and disposable gloves.
For burns, cool running water for 10-20 minutes is the best first aid. Burn creams containing silver sulfadiazine are used for minor burns. Keep a crepe bandage for sprains and a triangular bandage for slings. Include a thermometer, ORS packets, and basic pain relievers.
