Important Warnings

Prescription-only antibiotic; do not use for viral infections. Use with caution in patients with history of allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins (risk of hypersensitivity). Diarrhea can occur; seek medical help for severe/persistent diarrhea (risk of C. difficile colitis). Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney impairment. Inform doctor if pregnant/breastfeeding or if you have a history of gastrointestinal disease.

Drug Interactions

Cefuter-500MG Tab may interact with the following:

Probenecid (increases cefuroxime levels)
anticoagulants such as warfarin (may increase bleeding risk/INR)
antacids/H2 blockers/PPIs may reduce absorption if taken together (separate dosing)
oral contraceptives (antibiotics may reduce efficacy in some cases—use backup contraception)
other nephrotoxic drugs (e.g.
aminoglycosides
high-dose diuretics) may increase kidney risk.
