Cefuroxime axetil 500 mg (tablet)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, acute bronchitis, pneumonia), ear infections (otitis media), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections; may be used for other infections as prescribed.
Cefuroxime is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to weakening and rupture of the bacterial cell wall. It is effective only against bacterial (not viral) infections.
Take by mouth as prescribed, usually 1–2 times daily. Preferably take after food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; complete the full course even if you feel better.
Common side effects of Cefuter-500MG Tab may include:

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Cefuter-500MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Prescription-only antibiotic; do not use for viral infections. Use with caution in patients with history of allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins (risk of hypersensitivity). Diarrhea can occur; seek medical help for severe/persistent diarrhea (risk of C. difficile colitis). Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney impairment. Inform doctor if pregnant/breastfeeding or if you have a history of gastrointestinal disease.
