Amoxicillin 200 mg/5 ml, Clavulanic acid 28.5 mg/5 ml (after reconstitution)
Bacterial infections in children such as ear infection, sinusitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis/pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections (as prescribed)
Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid blocks beta-lactamase enzymes, helping amoxicillin work against resistant bacteria.
Reconstitute with boiled and cooled water up to the mark; shake well. Give measured dose using oral syringe/spoon at prescribed intervals, preferably at start of a meal. Complete the full course. Shake well before every dose.
Common side effects of Clavam Bid Dry Syrup may include:
Contraindicated in penicillin allergy. Use with caution in liver disease; monitor for jaundice. Seek care for severe diarrhea, rash, or breathing difficulty. Dose adjustment may be required in kidney impairment.
