Alkepin ODT 100

Ketoprofen 100 mg (orally disintegrating tablet)

Relief of pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute musculoskeletal pain, dental pain, post-operative pain, and dysmenorrhoea (period pain).

Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis. This lowers inflammation, pain, and fever.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Place the ODT on the tongue and allow it to dissolve; swallow with saliva (water may be taken if needed). Preferably take after food to reduce stomach upset. Do not exceed the recommended dose/duration.

Acidity/heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, rash

Avoid if you have active peptic ulcer/bleeding, history of NSAID-induced asthma/allergy, or severe heart failure. Use with caution in kidney or liver disease, hypertension, heart disease, asthma, elderly patients, and those with history of GI ulcer/bleeding. NSAIDs may increase risk of stomach/intestinal bleeding and cardiovascular events (heart attack/stroke), especially with high doses or long-term use. Stop and seek medical help if you develop black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, chest pain, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or severe skin rash.

Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, heparin, aspirin, clopidogrel), other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, SSRIs/SNRIs, antihypertensives (ACE inhibitors/ARBs, diuretics), lithium, methotrexate, cyclosporine/tacrolimus, alcohol

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
