Glimepiride 3 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (non-insulin dependent) to help control blood sugar, usually along with diet and exercise; may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. It also helps improve the body’s response to insulin, lowering blood glucose levels.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not skip meals after taking. Dose is individualized based on blood sugar; do not change dose without medical advice.
Common side effects of GLIMIBRIT 3MG TAB may include:
Risk of hypoglycaemia—more likely with missed meals, excess exercise, alcohol, elderly patients, kidney/liver impairment, or dose increases. Monitor blood glucose regularly; carry a quick source of sugar. Use with caution in renal or hepatic disease; dose adjustment may be needed. Inform doctor if you have G6PD deficiency (risk of hemolysis). Stop and seek care for severe allergy, jaundice, unusual bruising/bleeding, or persistent low sugars. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
