What is Nu-Whitfield Ointment used for?

Fungal skin infections (dermatophytosis) such as ringworm (tinea corporis)
athlete’s foot (tinea pedis)
jock itch (tinea cruris); helps in associated scaling and thickened skin.

How Nu-Whitfield Ointment Works

Benzoic acid creates an acidic environment that inhibits growth of dermatophytes. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic that softens and removes scales, improving penetration of the antifungal environment and reducing thickened skin.

Dosage & Directions

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer 1–2 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Continue for the prescribed duration (often 2–4 weeks) and for 1–2 weeks after symptoms improve to reduce recurrence. Avoid application on broken skin and mucous membranes.
