Ointment
Fungal skin infections (dermatophytosis) such as ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris); helps in associated scaling and thickened skin.
Benzoic acid creates an acidic environment that inhibits growth of dermatophytes. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic that softens and removes scales, improving penetration of the antifungal environment and reducing thickened skin.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer 1–2 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Continue for the prescribed duration (often 2–4 weeks) and for 1–2 weeks after symptoms improve to reduce recurrence. Avoid application on broken skin and mucous membranes.
Burning/stinging, redness, irritation, dryness, peeling, itching, allergic rash
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and genitals; rinse with water if contact occurs. Do not use on broken/oozing skin or large areas for prolonged periods. Stop and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling or worsening occurs. Use with caution in children and in people with sensitive skin. Not meant for nail/scalp fungal infections unless advised by a doctor.
Additive skin irritation with other topical keratolytics/exfoliants (e.g., retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, strong soaps) and other irritant topical medicines; may increase irritation when used with topical steroids or other antifungals at the same site.
Store below 25°C, protected from heat and direct light. Keep cap tightly closed and keep out of reach of children.
