Rabeprazole 20 mg (delayed-release) capsule
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn, erosive reflux esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger–Ellison syndrome; part of H. pylori eradication regimens with antibiotics
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly blocks the gastric H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in parietal cells. This markedly reduces stomach acid secretion, relieving reflux symptoms and allowing ulcers/erosions to heal.
Oral capsule: take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, preferably before food (often in the morning). Swallow whole; do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. If used with antibiotics for H. pylori, follow the full regimen and duration.
Common side effects of Razo D Capsule may include:
Long-term or high-dose use may increase risk of low magnesium (hypomagnesemia), vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, and certain infections (e.g., C. difficile diarrhea). Seek medical advice if black stools, persistent diarrhea, severe abdominal pain, or unexplained weight loss occur. Use with caution in severe liver disease. May cause false-negative results in certain gastric tests and affect chromogranin A testing; may mask symptoms of gastric malignancy—evaluate alarm symptoms. Not intended for immediate relief of acute heartburn.
